North American P-51 Mustang, Mustangs over Switzerland 1948 - 1957

In 1948, 100 North American P-51 D Mustang aircraft from the American armed forces in Europe were flown over to Dübendorf to supplement the propeller-driven combat aircraft from the Second World War. A further 30 aircraft were procured as "replacement material". The P-51 Mustang`s served in the Swiss Air Force from 1948 to 1957.
