Bill is the son of the co-pilot: 2nd Lt. Russell P. Liscomb, who made an emergency landing in Switzerland on 13 August 1943 with the first American bomber, Will (SG)
Quote Bill Linscomb;
I finally made it to The B-17 Museum in Utzenstorf, Switzerland. My dad was a co-pilot on the B-24D "Death Dealer" which crash landed in a field near Wil, Switzerland on August 13, 1943. I know it's not a B-17 so why is my dad's stuff here? Death Dealer was the first Allied plane to land in Switzerland! Dad spent some of the best days of his life interred in Switzerland rather than being a POW. Rolf Zaugg has spent over 30 years collecting items for his museum and archives, which is dedicated to the memory of those who flew in WWII. It is an amazing collection you must see if you are in the area. So happy that my Dads' memories will live on here...
