The B-17G-50-DL of the 15th Air Force, 301st Bomb Group, 32nd Squadron with Serial No. 44-6347 and the nickname «Princess O’Rourke». Took off in Lucera (Italy) and took part in the bombing of tactical positions on the Brenner Pass with other aircraft belonging to the 301st Bomb Group. Strong enemy antiaircraft fire at deferment train station Vipiteno damaged the oil tanks of the right and left external engines, so that they stopped working. First Lieutenant Robert M.
